Our Founder.
Art Show For A Cause was created by Jackie Russell (Fender) in 2011. In that same year, Jackie’s eldest brother passed away unexpectedly. Jackie did not know how to cope with the loss of her brother, so she turned to art. She first began to draw and paint because she remembered, as a child, copying or tracing her brothers drawings, because her brother was an artist also. He never really pursued art but he was extremely talented. As a tribute to her late brother, Jackie began to create art.
Jackie continues to grow more and more in her artistic abilities and in her love for art everyday. She believes that her new found talent and love for art was a gift from her brother.
ASFAC was created as a way that Jackie could, in her own creative way, keep the legacy of her brother alive. ASFAC is an annual event that gives its proceeds to non profit organizations that are chosen by the founder. There have been three art shows so far and there is currently one in the works. Every year each theme is believed to be divinely inspired and every art show is bigger and better than the last.
